Brief summary:
1) You open their website (can't post links, gym is "westgate leisure centre") and are enticed with a £30 per month deal that "Includes unlimited access to all of our gym facilities, swim sessions and group exercise classes."
2) I went there, conditions were valid, I signed up. All good!
3) Few days later (less than 1 week), I received a beautiful email from them that in part says:
4) I go to their website and... surprise! Price is still being advertised as £30.
I am literally !!!!ed off but, before anything else, is this even legal ???

Tell them to stuff it0

Report them to the local trading standards. Take a screenshot of the website and give them the link.0

Check what their cooling off period is and cancel your application. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0

Check to see that it's not been sent in error.
There are other more expensive options on the site.0 -
As someone else has mentioned - there should be a cooling off period in the T&Cs0

This!
They apologised and said it was sent in error (and apparently it affected several people). Yet, weirdly enough, they never sent a second email apologising / saying to ignore the price increase.
If I hadn't asked I'd still be worried about this...0 -
I'd want an email / letter to confirm it was an error or i'd be cancelling..0

Welcome to gym world .. the receptionists and admin are humans that don’t care, probably have never used a gym in their lives and love sending out debt letters to members who cancel.. don’t take it seriously, find a good gym, that has decent facilities with a decent price and go train !!0
