Email back and ask for confirmation that they have discontinued the claim (a copy of the discontinuance they sent to the Court) or you will be forced to serve a defence and continue, and due to this, you are minded to serve a counter claim if they do not reply quickly.

Ask why they discontinued, was it due to a minor keying error in the VRN or a lack of evidence, or the very late NTKs? And if so, why did they carry out no checks at all and just file a claim despite it having no merit? Do they do this routinely and collect the money from all the frightened people who stupidly pay up, and only cancel when someone is savvy enough to ask for a SAR?

I doubt they will answer that second rant, but ask them anyway.
