Barclaycard credit limit increase

I have today logged on to my BC online and find they have increased my credit taking up to £4,200 from £2,700. My original limit was £3,700 but asked for it to be decreased. The reason being I have a bt of 2.9% for life of transfer and knew I would not use the card.
I also have a BC Mastercard with limit of £5,500 and never have used it.
I will certainly ask them to decrease the limit but found it very strange as they promote themselves as being a responsible lender.

m&s have just increased my limit to 2500 ! i am paying off the balance and have not used the card for sometime .This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Yeah, M&S increased mine - just after the period for transferring a balance at 3.9% for the life of the balance ended. Sure it was just co-incidence...0
