Thomas Cook offer

Hi, I wonder if you could give me some advice. I've booked a package holiday through Thomas Cook last year. I go away on may and I've recently looked on the Thomas Cook website of the hotel and there is an offer on. The offer is

"Free upgrade from Bed & Breakfast to Half Board for guests booking a complete stay between 1 May-20 June 2019 on bookings made by 31 March 2019"

Now I've booked before March 2019 and I am staying between 1 may - 20 June. There is no more information on the offer and no terms and conditions of it. I've asked Thomas Cook for the offer and told no, it's only for new booking. Even though it doesn't say that. Do you think this is right? Or should I take it further to try and get the offer?

Thank you.

You were happy with the price when you booked it, personally you should have never looked at the website again.

Spin it the other way: if the price would have gone up, would you be ringing them up offering to pay the difference?

You entered into a contract with Thomas Cook effective when you accepted the deal on offer.

Have you considered other aspects - for example, has the price of the holiday changed since you booked ?

Maybe newer customers are having to pay more for the improved HB offer than you did for the B&B deal ?

I understand how you feel, but it would definitely be a deal for new bookings. There was most likely a deal at the time you booked, but that didn't coincide with your holiday. It's just unlucky that the holiday now has a deal.

I usually leave my holidays until the last minute. For example, I am wanting to go away in May with my partner, and we have both had our requests at work accepted, we then wait until a few weeks before when we get great holiday deals! The most we have paid for a holiday is £300 each which included everything and was initially a £1000+ holiday.

Booking last minute obviously works for you but would not be my choice. You are getting the holidays which have not sold for whatever reason. I like to do my research and book early so I get my first choice of dates, resort and hotel. Plus lots of time to look forward to it!

The kind of hotel I like does not get discounted either.
