Understanding my Eversmart final bill

I switched from EverSmart to Utility Point on 25th Feb, but my monthly billing date from Eversmart was the 17th, so the next (final?) bill after switching was due 17th March. I've just seen it and it's not making much sense to me. I submitted meter readings to new supplier on 21st Feb as they requested, i.e. 4 days before the actual switch. I might have submitted the same readings to EverSmart as well (I know the new supplier is supposed to pass these on, but still).

The 'C' readings are correct, those are the ones I provided on the 21st Feb. I understand the negative line, correcting their previous overestimate. And I would expect there to be 4 days of usage and standing charge to be added on. But it appears to me, on both gas and electric, that they've charged me a full month of standing charge, and very high estimates of usage (my electric averages under 10kwh/day, gas about 0.7m3 per day). Am I misunderstanding? Do I have to wait even longer for a final bill and credit refund?

I've left my direct debit active with them, in the hope that they'll refund me that way, but to compound matters, I've just noticed that they've taken another dd payment from my account today (the regular monthly amount that I had been paying). That's definitely not right!

You go to the small suppliers expect no service. They cannot afford it.

Just looks like the standard bill to me, what you would be gettign if you had not left.

Cheapest option to you is to contact them on twitter or smiilar if they have a presence. Usually gets you to the competent team too.

Keeping the DD active is best if you can afford it and it gives them an easy way to return the money!

Given that Eversmart are no longer your supplier, I would contact the bank and get today's direct debit payment refunded.
As per @Carrot007, inform Eversmart of this action too.

Certainly can not see any problem by doing that considering you are always paying in advance for your energy.

I contacted Eversmart yesterday (online chat), quite helpful, sorted out the final readings and generated me a statement. That shows that I've overpaid by about £150, but the bill they generated two days ago suggested I was about £200 in credit (neither includes the DD they took yesterday). Both have the same final readings, so I can't quite work out why they're different.

They also suggested I do a dd indemnity to recover yesterdays transaction, as that would be the quickest way to get refunded. I've just done that, but my bank told me they had to cancel the ongoing dd authorisation in order to claim. She said that Eversmart would have my account number and sort code to do the credit refund, and that wouldn't be refunded by dd anyway.

If you want further help, you would need to supply a picture of that part of your bill(s) that shows the actual 'payments made' and 'balance', rather than just the cost of the energy.

I appreciate that you don't want to show personal data, so you might need to use an image manipulation program to fuzz out the personal bits first.

1 .So are the newly generated final bills using the same readings that your new supplier has for their opening readings? Or another value?. The final readings must be the same as the new open supplier's opening readings to ensure that you only pay for the fuel you used once.
    2. As for understanding the bills, as JohnB47 says, we are just guessing without seeing all the figures.
