Old lead paint upsetting baby ?

This isn't about saving money, but I don't know where else to ask, and hope a kind, knowledgable soul on here can help. My grown-up daughter is having some rooms in her victorian house painted, among them her 6 month old baby girl's room. The DD has been very disturbed and upset (not sleeping, uncharacteristically yelling etc etc) since painting started, and my DD wondered if there might be traces of lead in the paint the painters are rubbing down, and whether baby might be inhaling it. She is hoovering like mad at end of each day, opening windows, dusting with microfibre cloth etc etc but doesn't think baby is teething or any of the 'normal' things that would account for her being so upset. Is it likely that lead in the paint dust is hanging around ? How would she know ? and does anyone have any idea of anything else she should be doing to avoid it getting into baby's lungs ? (she is taking her out all day while painters there)
Any thoughts very gratefully received - we couldn't think who else to ask.

Not an expert in these matters but............
Lead and lead paint would be a cumulative poision......ie you would have to be exposed or ingest it for many months or years for it to have an effect.
I would look at others sources for the babies upset....
Any reputable painter would be aware of the old lead paint and should take the appropriate action to prevent any problems0 -
sounds more like the baby's teething0
