Hi,
I’m recently checkedmy credit report on Noddle and have found a defaulted account from Santander from feb 2014. I had this account set up for me by the military but never received a bank card or any statements so was non the wiser until recently. Never had money in the account or any taken out of it. It’s saying I have defaulted for £495. Is it worth waiting for it to go past the 6 year point or are they likely to give me a ccj?
It has Gone-Away on the account too if anybody can advise what this means? It’s not showing on any other report apart from Noddle hence why I’m only just seeing it. Is it worth paying the default? Any advice is appreciated!

It's always worth settling defaults if you want to improve your credit files.
If you don't think it's a genuine debt, you should dispute it.
Alternatively, if it's yours, you could gamble and hope to let it become statute barred. But CCJs have been issued for less and if they don't have your current address, you probably wouldn't know about it until too late.0 -
Thank you for the reply, that’s pretty much what I was thinking about doing anyways. If I settle the default will the date of DF stay the same? I don’t want to reset it for another six years!0

The default will automatically be removed from your file six years from the date of default regardless. Why would you settle an account that you seem to be disputing?I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.
I love my job0
