Car on finance with recurrent problem with car

Hi, I bought a second hand car on 5 year finance for the first time in September 2018, a diesel golf. 2 months later it broke down and ended up having all its injectors replaced. It was under the 3 month warranty from the garage so they covered the costs. We weren’t happy with the car after the repairs so the dealer we bought it frombgot their garage to check it over and they said all was good. Unfortunately my car has broken down again today (7month after buying it) and it appears to be the same problem! We can get the injectors replaced again as they are under the garage warranty but will have to pay labour costs. Now am keen to get rid of the car as appears to be a recurrent problem. Have asked to return it to the garage but they will give £1400 less as value has gone down, will only do a part exchange and will need a deposit. We don’t have a spare £1400 + deposit for a new car. Has anyone has any luck with proving the car is not fit for purpose? Or idea if we have any other options?
p.s sorry for the long post!

How many miles have you done in since they replaced the injectors last time, they should last a lot longer than 7 months, where they secondhand when fitted?

You shouldn't have to pay for the labour but find out how much it will be.

Try your finance company, they may have some influence with the supplying dealer.
  • It has only done about 3000 miles since they were fitted and no they were not second hand ones and were fitted by a diesel specialist

You shouldn't have to pay for them to replace this early - unless there was an issue with the pump, tank, filter etc.

You didnt fill it up with unleaded did you? Or maybe a previous owner did and you have other issues.

    I'm guessing this is a 1.6 TDI between 2009 and 2013?

If so there is problems with the electrical part of the injectors insulation breaking down so the actuation coils short circuit.
Due to the way these are built you cannot refurbish this part of them, so it's new or, if you want to take a chance, used.

VW changed the injector suppliers for 2014, but I've never heard of the two being interchangeable.

VW dealers are wise to the problem but just blame poor fuel, after all most people still believe VW products are reliable and well built!
