This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning :)

Up and ready for the world reasonableish sleep probably because I headed up at 8 last night

Working fairly local today in fact its pretty close to mum. Wont have time to call in though as its a busy day.

Dinner last night was a stripped chicken crusty roll and a jacket and my freezer delight today is some pork steaks which I will marinade when I get in. Oh and lunch/car park breakfast is ham rolls.

Not much else to report in this thrilling life of mine atm

Gers it was great to read how much happier your mum was yesterday I bet she's entertaining the rest of the bay :)
TA I read that too and have suitably ignored it
Speky hope you feel better today at your age you really should be able to handle your beer a bit better :rotfl:
dp1 well done on babysitting ...she sounds an angel
taff hope your feeling ok after your radio

Have a lovely day all :A

    Morning everyone

I went and had a look at some floor tiles yesterday and I am now even more unsure of exactly what I want. I think I will park that idea for a few weeks, at least until early summer.

Today I need to go and collect my prescription, and then I am going into town to collect a package for my neighbour from the post office.

Other than that, I don’t have anything planned.

Gers I was pleased to read that your mum is settled and starting to improve. I so agree about the people watching (you know me so well :))

Dp1 It’s lovely to read about how well your granddaughter is doing now.

TA glad that you had a nice lunch and day out with your friend. The scarf and necklace sound like my sort of colours.

ScarletRibbons I hope that your hearing is much better when you have been to have them syringed this morning.

Taff that was kind of the cat’s owner to bring you gifts. Did you have the radiotherapy planning appointment yesterday or the first treatment?

Have a good a day everyone.
  • Morning folks and thanks NELSKI. It feels very mild this morning which is most welcome after the nippy starts we have been having.

I really must do some long neglected jobs today. Nowhere to go so no excuses allowed! First off will be the much needed large freezer tidy and inventory update. The small freezer keeps ok as I am not in and out of that as much!

DD is on an early shift tomorrow so the two youngest DGDs are here for late tea and sleepover after their dancing lessons (eldest staying at her dads) so will need to sort something out for them to eat. Today is day 1 of my less calorific eating plan - will see how long I last this time! And NELS I too have decided to ignore the egg warning. It will be something else we shouldn't be eating by tomorrow I suppose.

GERS good news re DM. TAFF I hope all goes well with the treatment. GINTOT I hope DH is progressing well. ((HUGS)) for all the other poorlies, sad, worried or lonely who need them too. Take care all xx

    Morning everyone

Nelski - thanks for starting us off x

Hugs to those that want/need one, and those that are poorly or looking after poorly people x

Happy birthday to those with a birthday x

Cloudy start to the day here, but not raining, dry underfoot as yesterday wasn't a bad day, I'm going to peg a line of washing out once I've read todays' forecast hoping it's not going to rain.

DH up and getting ready for work as is DS1, I'm showered, dressed and eating brekkie whilst I'm on here.

Dinner last night was ham, egg and chips, side portion of HM potato salad for those that wanted some. I remembered to get the chicken portions out to defrost so we'll have those with mash, LO veg and gravy tonight.

Work yesterday was quite busy in the morning then wasn't so busy in the afternoon. I just have today to work then on days' off but working Saturday morning.

    Keep safe and well x

So pleased to hear your DM is in better spirits Gers.
The baby sounds to be a joy dp1.
Nice of the cat owners taff, shows they love the little thing.
    How's your OH Gintot?

Quite damp outside this morning, yesterday wasn't too bad but no sunshine.

Our team lost their netball match but it was close, they were brilliant and seem to have suddenly got the hang of it at last. My haircut is a bit short but it'll grow quickly again.

Nothing much else to report, washing hanging on the pulley and chest of drawers still on the kitchen table!

Have a happy Wednesday, take care. XX

    Good morning everyone.

It's very grey and murky outside, seems to have been raining overnight.

Last night I couldn't keep my eyes open so was asleep by 8.30pm. I'll need to watch sewing bee and Shetland on catch up today.

My only plans are to visit DM.

    Happy Wednesday to all.

Did not get on much yesterday at all both OH and I were very poorly, I had made a cottage pie Mon night and it made us very ill :(the mince was ok but I think it might have been the spuds two I took out of the bag were rotten so I chucked them out but I used the rest which were ok but a bit soft, so I wondering if it was them ? Surfice to say it was coming out of both ends _pale_ we kept passing on our way to the loo, we slept most of the day and night and I do feel a bit better now but will leave it 1/2 hr before deciding if I go to work or not I do feel better just weak.

Gintot hope John is on the road to recovery xx

Really dont fancy anything to eat so will just play it by ear today there is food at work if I want something.

Gers pleased to hear your DM is improving

Yesterday was not a good day, my freezer failed. Managed to save some but had to bin quite a lot. There was a lot of fruit from the garden frozen in 1lb block so I now have 19!! jars of jam. Trying to think of recipes and ways to use it.
Found myself getting quite upset, not sure why, think it is the reality that it's just me to sort out our problems.

Thinking of all those finding life difficult at the moment.

Morning all, dp1 - lovely news!

Sending get well wishes to our poorly posters and family members.

I have things to do today but they are deadly boring things.

Hope everyone has as good a day as possible.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back
