Fingerprint ID on HSBC app

I've gone from disinterest, to being a big fan of using my finger/ thumbprint to log on. More or less all my apps had it, except HSBC.

I just logged on, and it's now there. I was asked to enable it right away.

Not yet on my android, maybe on iPhone only so far. About time, anyway.

I've had it for about a month on Android. iPhone have had it for quite a while.

The issue of fingerprint ID is that you do not have to be conscious/alive to appear to have logged in.

I'm just waiting for the posts on here telling how the poster was scammed out of £xxx as someone used their finger to access their phone and make a payment while they were drunk/drugged or whatever.
Sometime you just wonder who thinks these ideas up and do they ever consider any downsides at all - otherwise known today as a "risk assessment"
