friend paying for holiday on credit card but not going

Im not allowed a credit card as my income is too low. Even tho i have inheritance in the bank which im living off a little.
Can my friend pay for our holiday abroad on their card and still get full protection even tho they are not going ??
I was going to give them full amount back soon as its done.

You need to change your bank if that is how they treat you!

Where have you been applying for a credit card? Do you currently work? If you are living off an inheritance I can see why you wouldn't be accepted.

The answer to your original question is, probably not. So I suggest that you pay using a debit card (if you have a healthy bank balance then surely your bank will give you one), which does give you a limited amount of protection.
  • I went into lloyds Herne bay. and they said does not matter what i have in my account?
  • So really a multi millionaire cant get a card if they have no earning?

A wealthy person would have their money invested, and so would have an income from interest and dividends.

Anyway, assuming that your name is on the electoral roll and you don't have any bad debts recorded against your name, you could probably get one of the 'starter' credit cards like Aqua or Vanquis.

I didn't have a verifiable income when I applied for my first credit card. MBNA gave me my first, with a credit limit of £250. :)
I kept it in good order and now I have over £20,000 of credit with them alone. Used to have more, but I didn't need more than one Mastercard and one Visa with them.
Now MBNA is part of Lloyds banking Group, I don't know if you'll be in the same boat applying to them.

My advice, apply to an independent and exaggerate a little if need be. Keep the account in good order and build your credit limit with them.

If you're really a multi-millionaire, then you wouldn't keep all your money in one account...

It would be invested, and the interest reported as earnings (and taxed as such too!).

That earnings would be put down on a credit card application and then would be accepted.

If you have, I presume, a modest inheritance without any income, then it's very unlikely you'll get any credit card. If you do it will be one of the sub-prime lenders (Aqua, Vanquis, Marbles etc.).

Paying on someone else's credit card does not give you section 75 protection.

You will have a Debit Card, pay using that?

    Nonsense....
