  • How much did you pay for the car?

If "all the electrics" have been eaten by mice, how on earth did you even start the car, let alone drive it.

OK - "all the electrics" is my non-technical description.

    The car starts and drives.

The service centre said there was evidence of damage to internal wiring/electrics and they suspected that if they took the car apart they would discover more damage.

I bought the car on the understanding that the carpets and seats needed a clean which, given the time I had available to me, I was prepared to do.

I didn't expect animal waste hidden under the floor of the vehicle and I didn't expect extensive damage to the vehicle by mice.

The garage claimed the mice damage must have happened in the few weeks I'd owned the car (the service centre said the damage appeared too have happened over a long period of time). I also didn't expect the garage where I bought it to block my calls and not supply a service history (which was advertised). I also suspect they haven't even bothered to post the vehicle ownership form (after reading reviews of them this would appear to be another little trick they do).

How much was the car, it sounds like a cheap car from a dodgy dealer.. what is actually wrong with the car, if wires were eaten, something wouldnt work.

assuming the is a problem and that the seller wont sort it

did you pay by credit card if so you could go the charge back route

you may have to go to court and even if you win they may not pay.
  • Sorry to resurrect this thread but thought I'd offer a follow up - it might prove useful to someone else in my position.

Plus also wanted to respond to some of the other people who responded with, shall we say, less than helpful comments previously.

Thankfully I paid on Credit Card and the CC company agreed with me (and the service centre which found all the faults with the vehicle) and I got full refund.

Turns out the dealer was dodgy and had done the same to quite a few people. Looks like they did a runner as you can only go on scamming people for so long I guess.

Anyway - I got the correct and satisfactory result in the end and the CC company said I could do whatever I wanted with the vehicle - I'll sell it on but obviously make it very clear what the state of the car is.
