Thanks for all the replies more than the bank is willing to do. Quote from Bermonia. There is little to no evidence that people were told they had to have it... in fact quite the opposite (common myth perpetuated by the claims companies... extremely rare this is found to be the case). This could go either way as someone is unlikely to go in the bank with recording equipment and mobile phones weren't common place when these policies were peddled.
This have never been a reason for complaint for me, and can't be in my circumstances. What i do have is a policy with un-ticked PPI cover, but added anyway by a broker , also regular PPI payment being still being paid on another policy after the age of 70 during Santander acquisition of the company.
Banks should still have the decency to reply even if they think the policy is not mis-sold.
Quote from Bermonia Again I must ask what is the point of this thread or your subsequent posts?!
Whether this going to be acceptable to you or not, the reason for my post is for people who maybe wishing to claim on a PPI policy but not have the terms of conditions at hand( bear in mind some lenders had different terms and conditions) whether they might be able to pursue a claim or not

Your post and your so called point makes no sense... are you posting for someone who may randomly have the same policy terms as you... although you have not detailed for what product or for what period the terms you quoted are for... keep in mind policy terms changed frequently and a lot of these can be found online given the right searching, and much more useful that’s the random bit you quoted... which also doesn’t elude to any kind of reason for a complaint to be successful.

So I must ask again... what is the point of your thread and subsequent posts?!

There is no doubt that PPI was often expensive and with little return in the event of a claim.

However, the Op's assertions in this thread have little basis in reality and certainly won't aid him in any mis-selling complaint..
