  • It sounds like the op doesn’t know much about cars and thinks the seller has stitched them up.
more just have a general mistrust of people. Plus the timing is a huge a$$ coincidence

so if needs be i can prepare myself for the loss of the car

You wont lose the car - its a dealer recall so they will change the part free of charge.

So you think that the vendor deliberately passed up FREE work on the car so as to somehow stitch you up?

    Cui bono?

So why would he bother telling you at all, If he was dishonest or just didn’t care he could’ve just gone with the ‘no longer my problem’ altitude and let you find out for yourself.
I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world

OP, this is a "win" situation......you are getting something fixed for free on your car :)

Given that you must have had good reasons for choosing the vehicle only 2 weeks ago, surely this makes you feel even better??

You're getting a free upgrade from a car that might catch fire, to one that might not.

If this is for a Corsa 1.4 turbo then the THIRD recall for this issue was February 2017. Note that there has also been a recall for the handbrake lever as well since then (June 2018).

The seller sounds like a decent person for keeping you informed.
