Utilita quote

MSE's switch cost projection for Utilita, saving me several hundred pounds, is not reflected in the quote that Utilta's website offers. In fact, their quote is more expensive than my current supplier Ebico. Ether way, I will have more than a 100% increase in my energy bill.

    Thanks for letting us know.
So Ebico prices have increased by 100% over the past 12 months? Shocking!

What is the name of the Ebico tariff you are currently on?
    What is your supply region?
What is your consumption in kWh?

Because I know prices haver gone up, but I don't thimk by 100% in a year. Also, their standard tariff has become capped by Ofgem over the last 12months.

Perhaps you secured an amazingly low cost tariff last year?
But that seems eqaully unlikely, as Ebico have never done loss leaders in the 15-20 years they've been going, unlike some suppliers, particularly some of the newer ones to market..

Utilita cannot be quoted accurately, as they have no standing charge.
  • Hi
I'm on Ebico's night owl tariff, in Yorkshire. My consumption is 7,200pa kwh Economy 7 and 1200 day usage.
I did get a good deal with Ebico last year. It cut my bill by several hundred pounds from the previous year.

    LOL!

Wasn't that the tariff that didn't charge anything for low rate?
Congratulations on getting your low rate up to a massive 85% :T
(Although your overall usage is still quite high ;))

Does make the numbers look good, but what you forgot is that ebico are not that silly - they put a maximum 60% cap on low usage

And then conversely, I'm switching back to Utilita as the price is comparable (for my postcode & usage) to others and I found them trouble free in the past. I already have their smart meter, and the system worked well.
