Picture says it all! Well done!

I think my panels are Q Cells as well, they look extremely similar anyway. But I totally envy you having a south-facing roof that wide; I had to get 3 more panels and at a slightly higher peak W per panel, just to get what will probably be a very similar yearly yield.
7.25 kWp PV system (4.1kW WSW & 3.15kW ENE), Solis inverter, myenergi eddi & harvi for energy diversion to immersion heater. myenergi hub for Virtual Power Plant demand-side response trial.

Our house is east/west facing and would have needed panels on both sides to get a decent output, possibly solar edge as well due to having two whacking great chimneys casting shade for part of the day.

I'm so pleased it worked out. Wondering if I should have got more :D

If we had gone with supplier 2 he would have persuaded me for 4kWp system and not to bother with the DNO as they are currently 'too busy' to get a timely decision to us.

I am still waiting for DNO approval of my system installed 9 months ago. Apparently the installer messed up and didn’t send the application through at the time.

It was November when I found out it hadn’t been submitted.

  • My application took 10 days and my installer applied for it while I was on the phone to him. Do you know what the hold up is? I was told it was a relatively simple procedure.

I take it your installer put a capping device on the system when it was installed?
  • I rang the DNO up after advice from my installer, it worked and I'm delighted with my 6.72kw southfacing system.....are batteries any cheaper yet?
6.72kw Pv Ja Solar 280w * 24 panels, Solar Edge inverter, South facing no shading.

I think the DNO have raised some queries which are still to be resolved.

No capping device fitted so in theory could generate 7.2 kw but with E/W roofs that is never going to happen. I have seen 5kw+ peaks on sunny/cloudy days but not much over 4kw consistently.

DNO take 10 days for a budget quote but not normally a full on approval.

I applied on the 22nd December and got my answer early March.

After all this I wish I had added another 4 panels as I do have the space and applied for a 7kw system as when I did the budget quote they approved 7kw. :-(
Now if I want to increase later when I get a battery Ill have to fit another Inverter.

I rang Northern Powergrid and my application only went in on 11th March. It will be May before I hear anything. The application is for 10kw as I would like to add a few on the south facing garage roof (actually 15* E of S). It is completely in shade from the main roof by 1.30pm in winter and 3.30pm this time of year but would give us a healthy boost in the morning. Surprisingly none of the installers who came to quote suggested that - maybe because the Velux windows would severely limit the number of panels.
