Tenancy end mid month

Hi everyone,
Looking for some advice.
My AST rental agreement started on the 21st December 2016. I renewed for another year 21st December 2017.
My rent is paid one month in advance. i.e. 21st February payment will cover me to the 21st March.
Since then I have been on a month by month periodic tenancy.
I handed my notice in on the 1st February and my letting agent confirmed that my tenancy will end on the 31st March. I have this in writing and via letter.
My question is, do I need to pay the full rental amount on the 21st March considering my tenancy ends on the 31st? Which is only 10 days.
I checked my contract and this is the only relevant part I could find;
(7.1) The tenant agrees to confirm in writing to the landlord or agent no later than 2 months prior to the end of their tenancy of their intentions to vacate the property.
Any advice before I speak with the lettings agent tomorrow?
thanks

What's to 'speak' about'? You'll simply open an unneccesary debate.darkknight92 wrote: »Hi everyone,

running 21s to 20th each month.

Normally that would mean your tenancy ends on 20th April - 1 full tenancy period.
However you have offered an Ealy Surrender on 31st March which your landlord, via his agent, as accepted in writing.
My question is, do I need to pay the full rental amount on the 21st March considering my tenancy ends on the 31st? Which is only 10 days.
Depends what you agreed with the landlord!
If nothing oter was mentioned regrding the final rent, then you owe the number of days till the tenancy end date: ie 21st - 31st March (10 days)
I checked my contract and this is the only relevant part I could find;
(7.1) The tenant agrees to confirm in writing to the landlord or agent no later than 2 months prior to the end of their tenancy of their intentions to vacate the property.
This is irrelevant as it it superceeded by the Early Surrender which has ben agreed.
Any advice before I speak with the lettings agent tomorrow?
thanks
Pay for 10 days on 21st March.0 -
Thanks,
The letter I received reads as follows;
"Thank you for your email, I am writing to confirm that we have received notice as of 01 February 2019 of yourintention to terminate your tenancy at the above property, the last day of your tenancy being 31 March 2019."
There is a section on rent which reads;
Rent - It is your responsibility to cancel your standing order however full payment of rent up to and including the vacating date will be due on schedule and charges may still apply for late payment. We therefore ask you not to cancel your regular rent payment until all rent has been paid. Any rent you have paid after your tenancy ends will of course be refunded to you.

In this instance, will it still be safe for me to just pay the 10 days?
thanks so much for your help.0 -
Yes.

I would cancel the standing order and would pay just for the 10 days. It is much easier doing this rather than taking up their suggestion to overpay and then claim it back. Make sure that you transfer the money on the normal payment date so they don't try to sting you for late payment fees.darkknight92 wrote: »Thanks,

After making the final payment I would send a letter to them saying what you have done and showing your calculation.0
