Leaving Virgin then re-joining again

Hi, our virgin package is due to go up from £53 to £65 p/m. I have haggled with retentions as new customers get this for £42. the deal is 100 mb bb, medium tv and anytime unlimited calls.

I asked about leaving then joining up in partners name and vm said there was a 30 days notice to cancel, then another 30 days before we can re-join. is this correct? if so, in theory how long will we be without bb and phone line? not that bothered about not having tv?

If we did have to wait for 60 days what can we do about getting some temporary (but cheapish) bb?

I have shopped around for other deals but sky, talk talk etc can only offer a max of 8mb bb!

Thanks

30 days notice to cancel, things should still work (though they do like to cut of early!)

then another 30 days wait. and sign up
    then install 1,2,3 weeks? dunno.

you will have to pay the setup fee ? £20?

Not sure why u have to wait a further 30 days as its just taking over a working line which can be around 14 days if everything goes smoothly

You still receive service during the 30 day notice, afterall they cannot say 30 days notice but because you are leaving we are going to remove service as a punishment, so if you give notice ( as if you were moving house, they won't know that's a fib, ) and your partner calls and says they are moving in (another fib) on the last day of the 30 day notice, then the amount of time without service may only be a few days, but obviously depending on how busy VM are it could be longer but nothing at all like 60 days
