understanding negative energy figures
Hi all,
I am thinking of switching from E-On to Bulb. I want to use exact usage or monthly cost to generate a quote from Bulb to reflect the amount of energy I use. I know it varies from month to month specially during winter. I have below written a energy usage cost with E-on:
Your energy cost
Compare your monthly costs
Feb'19 £-32.04
Electricity £13.64
Gas £-45.68
Jan'19 £-25.65
Electricity £20.31
Gas £-45.96
Dec'18 £3.82
Electricity £29.02
Gas £-25.20
Nov'18 £66.15
Electricity £47.01
Gas £19.14
Oct'18 £68.36
Electricity £48.58
Gas £19.78
Sep'18 £57.33
Electricity £40.74
Gas £16.59
From these figures I can see what my usage cost is but what I am unable to understand is the minus figures. Anyone can shed some lights on what are these minus figures.
many thanks

Have you also been paying a monthly DD ?
or was there an earlier gas meter reading error - now corrected.
What were the readings on the bills ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
yes I have been paying £55 per month on DD0
-
ALL the figures are useless for an energy quote. Use the meter readings instead.0

ah bullocks! I was hoping to use monthly usage to reduce what I am paying. There is an option with Bulb that ask you to refine your quote where you could enter monthly pay or KWH.0

Do not use use monthly payments !
If you want an accurate "quote" use actual consumption figures.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
I shall use that then.
Many thanks.0 -

Hello daniesto and as others have said, it's always best to use kWh when doing energy quotes.
If you've registered with our website and been with us for over a year, you'll be able to see your usage in the 'MiData' section. Please log in, go to 'My Account' and then 'Request your MiData.' Choose 'view' to see the information or 'request email' if you prefer it this way. The figures will be based on the meter readings we have on the account.
There's also information about usage on bills and annual summaries.
Hope this helps daniesto.
