After some advice please
After contacting MBNA last week, they've confirmed that I did have PPI on my credit card that was held back in the early 2000's. However, what evidence would I need to prove that I was mis-sold PPI. My memory is pretty bad and to be honest, I don't remember any details from back then. so having to prove it was mis-sold would be very tricky. Is this a lost cause ?
Cheers !

You need to decide why you were mis sold.
Perhaps you were unemployed. Or had six figure savings. Or have evidence that you were told you must have it.0 -

No evidence is required to make a complaint. However, if your complaint reasons are of the type that evidence would be needed to support the complaint, then you may well need evidence to succeed.
With what you have said, you can make your complaint and just be honest you cannot remember (getting caught telling lies or making things up can actually damage your complaint more. Whereas being honest about not remembering does not do much damage at all. You are not expected to remember everything).
Your complaint would be weak and probably reliant on a failure at their end that you have not mentioned. But that is the best you can do.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). so just to round things off.... finally MBNA agreed I was mis-sold PPI. OK.. it wasnt a ground breaking payment but the principle was the main factor. Thanks for your comments.0
