Many thanks MSE, but a quick Q re a UKPC PCN

This is *such* a great board, and I really appreciate the time and effort that's obviously gone into it over the years. Looking at some of the recent posts re goings on in parliament, it looks like things are changing, and some of that will be down to this board!
I originally came here after my car was stickered by UKPC in pretty much the same place as a previous poster (See 'Got UKPC Parking Charge' post by kan_user on17th Feb 14).
Have been to look and the signage is very low-key, unclear and small. The threatened charge is also inconsistent with the PCN. It's not at all clear from the images UKPC have on their site that my car was parked in the place they allege anyway!
It's day 25 and I've just submitted an online appeal as per your Newbies sticky. I broadly understand from the info there (and elsewhere) what to expect next. But, with reference to the above post, the poster (Kan_user) sent in a 'soft appeal' at a later stage, 50 or so days after his OP.
Would that have been after receiving a NTK, or at the POPLA stage?
Just looking to get ahead of the game!
Thanks

I would expect that the PPC issued an NTK so he appealed again as KEEPER in order to get a popla code
you always hope that a PPC fails to send out the NTK by day 56, so that they fail POFA, but maybe not in his case as sometimes they comply0 -
There is no 'soft appeal' in the advice here. That was something from years back.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Just a quick update ... another SUCCESS, thanks!
Instead of an NKT from UKPC, I received a letter - printed cheaply in lo-res B&W - cancelling the 'parking charge' and apologising profusely for 'any inconvenience'.
It says "it is not our intention to cause undue worry or frustration when enforcing our clients' parking regulations. We have investigated the appeal based on the information you have submitted and confirm that in this instance the parking charge has been cancelled."
All on the basis of just your template first appeal!
They evidently know they have neither any grounds to keep trying, nor hope against people armed with MSE's advice.
Thanks again0 -

It is amusing when PPCs fold, just because a person submits our template!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

But UKPC don’t do this every time (unlike say Highview or CPS), so there must be an underlying reason (of which I’m not aware) why some appeals to UKPC result in a cancellation, while others are left to fester on.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I wonder if they get too busy trawling up all the money from idiots and naive victims with more money than sense, and then just take a decision to cancel any that they know they can't win, as they know they are too late for a NTK and are off for a week or more over Easter!PRIVATE 'PCN'?
