Which secure email for banking?

AOL / Yahoo (Oath) were being pushy in supplying phone numbers and now sending emails saying i have not logged in for over a year and my accounts will be removed if i dont login. These are used daily and login using Thunderbird.
Time to change my banking emails before they get blocked.
I had a Gmail email account blocked a while back, they would not give me any reason because i only used it to install bluestacks and google software to create apps.
Contacted them but got a robot response its blocked, but would not tell me why.
I do have my own domain and i use emails on that, but is it secure enough for my banking emails?
Domain purchased through easily.co.uk and 50webs.com for the hosting.
Anything obvious to making my emails secure?
Thanks.

Realistically email is not secure no matter who its with.
No bank in its right mind would send you things to your email with "see your statement attached" or things like that, they send you an email that says you have a new message log into online banking to see it.
With regards to Yahoo you may find its a requirement to log in every 12 months via webmail and not via the likes of Thunderbird.0 -
What banking emails are you referring to? As Neil says, no bank will send you anything sensitive by email, and it would be foolish for you to send anything sensitive to your bank by email. So rather than worry about the security of email, perhaps you should be reviewing your banking parctices.
For what it's worth, I use paid for email on Fasthosts (accessed normally via Thunderbird) and webmail with gmx, gmail and yahoo.0 -

If you want secure email you will want to use encryption but then everyone you send / receive email from will need to use the same encryption system when corresponding with you.
No bank sends any personal / account details via email so there is no issue there.0 -

Any bank that does is a sign to run for the hills to somebody else.
Much like companies who when you've forgotten your password actually email it to you, all it proves is you should shift your business elsewhere. Yes there are still companies who do this and all it proves is they haven't the first clue about security.0 -
Barclaycard send me my monthly credit card statements by email. (Albeit they are password-protected PDFs). I will (pretty much) guarantee that I'm not unique and that they do this for all their customers signed up for paperless statements.0

I have a number of credit cards and have opted for paperless statements with all of them.
Without exception they send me an email every month and all they say is that a statement has been produced and that I should log into my account to view them. None of them actually attach a copy of the statement.0 -

Not doubting you (well a bit!), but I've had paperless Barclaycard for donkeys years and never had a statement sent, protected or otherwise. Just get an email saying to log in when it is ready. Same with MBNA.0 -
Halifax send me a "your statement is ready" email each month, lately i have been getting a lot of emails stating i have not viewed any of my statements.
I view my statements every month, maybe its something to do with their useless tracking links which i block?
When i went to login one day and spotted facebook.com among the URLs it was trying to connect to, I blocked everything that was not essential for me to view and use my account.
I have beefed up the passwords on my domain and hosting, used unique emails for both of those which wont be used anywhere else. Domain locked from transfers. But thought if someone did get access they could simply untick that option and transfer it?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
How about ProtonMail ?Give a man a fish, and you'll feed him for a day.
But give a man a fishing rod, and he'll sell it and buy alcohol.0
