Hi,
I'm looking for a wee gadget to monitor my internet usage.
I am currently on dial up
and thinking of broadband :j , and was wanting an idea of day/ week usage to decide what package to get.
Did a search and found this wee fella, but he wont run for me, sits in tray with a wee red cross  .
Any suggestions, thanks.

It will be no use to you if you are on Dial Up.
You usage on Broadband won't be the same. Unless, you will be downloading huge files. A standard 5GB per month package will do for you.
Even less if you just browse the Internet.
What were you considering?
PS. Get rid of the monitor.0 -
Hi,
thanks for the reply.
Don't really need it for music, films etc, just want it faster, I can futter about for ages on it, maybe that's because my dial-up is so slow, so with broadband I'll save time, so as you say usage will be different.
Was looking at 1GB (cheapest) but think will go for 3GB.
Have already dumped monitor, thanks.0 -
Which package/cost/area?
Girlfriend didn't want Broadband, but once it was connected a lot more possibilities became evident.0 -
Try this http://www.metal-machine.de/readerror/ it monitors dial up interface.
I was trying to use it to monitor my broad band but it's no good as I send stuff over my home network so it goes bonkers .Nothing to see here, move along.0 -

Hi,
I'm a bit of a meanie, always looking for cheapest option, so was thinking of plusnet, only £9.99 for 1GB, but as already with Tesco, could upgrade to this, £13.99 for 3 GB, only £1.50 a month more than paying just now. But....would have to change my BT package, as on Low User just now and can't get broadband on that package, so would have to change to normal rental.0 -
