Funeral Plan whilst on Benefits?

I have just been looking at updating my will.
This got me thinking about other related things..such a s a funeral.
I am on benefits and likely to remain so for the rest of my life...Currently ESA and PiPs. For myself, I am not that bothered about a funeral (or cremation)... but I know that a couple of close family members would want me to have a 'decent' send off.
I know that I could just leave things...and if they want a bigger funeral, let them pay for it!...but it got me wondering about funeral plans...I haven't bothered with one before, but hardly a week goes by without me getting leaflets shoved through the door.
It's not a decision I would take without a good deal more thought - but does anyone know whether someone on benefits is permitted to have a funeral plan? Would it in some way count as 'savings'?(my ESA is means-tested)

From experience with my parents, buying a funeral plan wasn't considered deprivation of assets and the amount of money in the plan didn't count as savings.
Do be careful with following up the plans that come through the door - do your own homework and find the best for you - preferably one that guarantees to cover all the expenses.0 -
If you are going to prepay your funeral, do your own research.

Thankyou for the replies.
I am definitely going to research companies IF I decide to go ahead with this!
It's not something I had thought about before, so am just feeling my way around it at the moment.0
