MSE Cheap Energy Club switching nightmare

Has anyone else with multiple properties had issues switching tariffs with British Gas using the MSE Cheap Energy Club?

I moved house last year and my old property is still up for sale, and both are with British Gas. I used the MSE CEC to switch the tariff at my new house to "British Gas - Energy Plus Boiler Cover March 2020", but just logged into my BG online account and noticed the tariff has been applied to my old property.

The exact same issue happened last year when I used CEC to switch, and it took 3 months and 7 phone calls with BG to resolve it (how it can take that long to set a tariff on an account when I'm not even switching supplier I cannot fathom!).

When I switched again this year I thought, surely the same nightmare won't happen again, but sure enough it did! I'm 100% certain I chose the details of my new property when switching, as I took a screenshot this time, as last time it happened BG accused me of entering the wrong property details (which I'm certain I didn't).

Could this be an issue with Cheap Energy Club providing the wrong details electronically, or is British Gas's systems that handles the switching requests faulty? I suspect it's the latter.

I wouldn't have thought this was a typical error

As I understand it, if you want to monitor /switch 2 different properties with the CEC, you have to create 2 separate CEC accounts from 2 separate email addresses.

Therefore, as far as the CEC see you, your two accounts could be 2 entirely different users - there is no way they can match the two accounts to the same end user.

Therefore there would be thousands of complaints if a supplier as large as BG was switching wrong accounts based on information supplied by MSE CEC.

How it coincidentally happens that the erroneous switch also happens to be a BG supplied address you also own, I have no possible explanation, sorry.
