Best grab adhesive? - timber to Concrete post

We need to stick a piece of 6x2" treated timber (sticking the 2" edge) to a flat concrete fence post to bridge a corner of the garden. Whats the best weatherproof grab adhesive to use?

Saw an advert for 'Sticks Like Sh*t Turbo' where they stick 20 or 25 bricks to a post, but unsure if its a bit of a gimmick or if theres a better grab adhesive?

  • I would strongly recommend this:

I used it to stick down some edging blocks onto a concrete base about 3 years ago and they are still stuck in place.

I've also used it to stick a "temporary" patch onto a wooden fence panel and many years later, it's still there.

All adessives will tend to give out, as the timber and the concreate will expand and shrink and move at different rates and directions,

mechanical fixing like clamping around the post would be a far better permanent solution.

Weather will prevail in the end.

Use proper fixings, you can drill through the wood into the post, use plugs and countersink the screws, it will never come off.

This is the way to go..........
Trying to stick it with adhesive is just a bodge job & will never be successful no matter what expensive product you use.
Drill the post with a masonry drill bit, put some wall plugs in, & then fix with screws.
    Cost ??
    Less than a £1........

Pre stressed and reinforced concreate has a nasty habit of turning to dust when drilled, That's why id clamp... couple of lengths of threaded rod and preferably 4 drilled steel plates however if you haven't the facility's then timber would suffice.
