How long does it take for a car roof respray?

I recently dropped my car off on Monday afternoon to have a roof respray i spoke to the garage it was sent from on Thursday morning for an update and they don’t have an update yet? It’s now Friday i would of thought it would only take about 3 days max.

    +1

And chances are they will have a different person doing prep and doing the painting and they'll need a booth for the painting so it becomes a scheduling issue with all the other cars that are going through the same steps.

As above, also if something went wrong they may have a delay/have to repeat something.

They should have given you an estimate when you dropped it off and kept you updated if there is a delay though.

Crap job, a couple of hours. Decent job, 2 days - one to prep and paint, one to allow it to go off.

They would have agreed when they can take the car in to begin the work. Did they say for how long they would require to have the car ?

  • They didn’t really give a time frame as a few cars was booked in but it’s now Saturday and still no update i am going to ring them again today as i had 3 days off in the week from work thinking it would only take a couple of days but it’s almost a week on my guess is they have messed it up and are fixing it or they didn’t start the work when the car was dropped off.

If its a main dealer this kind of service seems the norm from my experience and yes, may well be still sat where it was left. I would try to get a fixed date from them that they expect the work to be completed though.

Spoke to the garage earlier there was a delay because the old paint job done was a really bad one done on the roof so they have had to get it right down to the metal apparently at least that clears it up should be ready by Monday or Tuesday.
