Direct debit charge

I have just been having a clear out of my old bank statements, and I noticed in 2011 I was charged £15 by Nationwide for an unpaid direct debit. I'm wondering if there is any chance of claiming it back from Nationwide? I have no idea what it was for.

    Even if you were confident that it was erroneously applied (and it sounds like you don't have any reason to be), it's way too late to do anything about it now....

    I'd be surprised if you did after eight years. I'd also be surprised if Nationwide still had a record of it. Your only option is to forget it.
