selling jointly owned but divorced

Hi, hopefully this is an easily answered question: I am divorced but still live in the jointly owned house. He has another of equal value so has mutually agreed This one is mine moneywise. He has had drawn up a document and signed and had it witnessed to validate this.
On the sale of my(jointly owned remember) property there will be some profits. My question is will the solicitor state these need to be paid into a joint account or can they go into my own bank account?
Trying to avoid any potential hassles ahead of exchanging contracts etc

    Why have him signed the house over to you, unless you have another house to live in.

    Ask for the cheque to be paid into your personal account, makes sure they have all the correct details.
    Verify the day before - you can never be too sure.
  • were lucky enough to have a house each of equal value so he moved into one and i'm now selling the other.
    wanted to make sure profits could be paid to an account in my just my name as the mortgage and house is still in both names.

    Your conveyancer will send the money to whatever account(s) his client(s) instruct him to.

    Obviously in this case, as the property is jointly owned, you are both his clients. Provided ou both give the same instruction there is no problem.

    The problem would be if you gave him conflicting instructions...........
