Really slow employer - tenant referencing

My employer is being really slow at submitting the tenant referencing letter. It's a huge HR department, outsourced. I knew this would happen. If I pay my half of the rent 6 months in advance, would this suffice as an alternative? At the moment my OH and I have split the rent 50/50 but the figures would add up on justvhis income. Landlord references are perfect, bank statements are fine. Even 6 months payslips of mivecall done. Isn't this a bit overkill? Figuring I could put in a complaint to HR, about HR ....

No one here can possibly tell you the answer to that question as all landlords/agencies are different. Some will look positively on rent in advance, others negatively.

Also an employer reference isn't just a purely financial check, they will be asking other questions too.

What did the LL/agency say when you asked them?
  • They are asking:

    Length of employment
    Permanent / fixedvterm etc
    Current address
    Salary
