£35k cc debt

Hello all, one of my friends has got £35k credit card bills with 5 cards, she also owes the bank about £20,000 and store card £1200, she has left the UK and moved in with family I think in France but could be Spain... she thought led me she has written to them all giving out her pivot number abroad along with her email address and explained she cannot pay any of these bills due to her having no job and three children!! She does not own a house here in the UK and gas nothing here... can she do this??? Surly regardless of if she ever returns to the ZuK or not she can’t just walk away??

Some may pursue her. Others will not.

Either way, I wouldn't concern yourself with it. It's her problem.

A cunning plan, Baldrick? Whatever it was, it's got to be better than pretending to be mad; after all, who'd notice another mad person around here?.......Edmund Blackadder.
  • Who owes it?

You? Her? The dog? The vicar down the road?

This is either spam or someone can’t get all their ducks in a row...

OP - If you are genuinely in that sort of a financial mess, then you should either stay in the UK or return to the UK, and face up to your problems...

    What is a pivot number?
In all probability your friend will get away with it as it is highly unlikely that any individual creditor would attempt to pursue her abroad.
Why she provided her e-mail address and the 'pivot' number is a mystery as it will only assist her creditors and their DCA's in contacting her.
Of course your friend should intend to stay away from the UK for at least 12 years (assuming each creditor goes for a ccj just before the initial 6 year period is up).

Your friend could also apply for bankruptcy and wipe the slate clean or though there are consequences of course

Your going to have to go further than Spain if you want to run from your debt to be honest. I hear the Central African Republic is nice at this time of year.

  • Can anyone else smell anything a bit, sort of, 'farmyardlike'?
  • Could your friend make it to Nigeria?

I know someone there (well I had an email once) who says he has $10,000,000 US Dollars and is looking for someone to help him get the account its in unlocked. If she could make it there well who knows, if she helps the Prince he might pay back her £35K debt.
