Seafarers Mortgage Help

Good afternoon all.

I am looking for guidance with regards to a first mortgage.

I am currently working abroad on yachts, and spend 8/9 months out of the 12 for my none taxed salary. I currently earn 3255 euros per month, what usually comes out around £2800(ish) a month take home. I have £650 of bills, phone, car, laptop, the usual bits.

I have £4000 saved so far, and will be saving roughly £1000 a month carrying on from now. I live in Cornwall, which for a single guy the house prices are quite high. I can get a 2 bed place for around £180k.

I understand you require 10% to buy a house so will be looking to save up as quickly as possible. When I come to buying, does anyone have any good seafarers companies I can speak to, or look for a mortgage with. Also is there a way around only using a seafarers company, and explain somehow to the popular mortgage companies my situation?

I am however looking at promotion soon, within the next 12 months and my wages will then raise to around 4000 euros. Would it be worth waiting until promotion to speak to someone about mortgages as my wages will allow me to borrow more?

Any help on the situation will be great.

Thank you.

Seafarers and euros, I think you need to find a broker as this will take a lot of discussion with lenders.

I think at £180,000 you might be pushing things a little bit but it might be possible.
