Help: Stupidly admitted liability & changed address

Hi folks,

In advance, thanks for all of your advice and hard work with newbie FAQ guides etc It's a great resource and it's good to see people working together against the parking parasites!!

Apologies if this has been covered in previous threads, I've struggled to find info that directly relates to my case.

Stupidly, before I even started researching PCN's etc, I admitted liability, saying that i was the driver of the vehicle in question, but not the keeper and then going on to say that I disputed the claim because I did in fact register my car in the parking machine on the day.

I intend to fight it, if it ever goes to court, as I have eye witness testimonial - but I was wondering if this admittance of liability changed anything?

Also, I've started getting letters from debt collectors, which i'm not worried about, but I have recently moved and I'm concerned that my grandmother might start getting debt collectors around the house, harassing her. What is the course of action - do I contact the parking firm and notify them of my change of address? Do I leave it? I don't think that I should be notifying, or having any communication with the debt collectors.

Cheers again,
DonDon

Yes, you contact the DPO at the PPC (look for an e-mail on their privacy page) and send them a rectification notice for your "address for service" and tell then they must delete the previous address.

Nobody can go round your Grandmother's house or anybody's house. You have to go to court AND lose AND fail to pay the court order in 30 days and then the PPC can ask the court to collect the debt.

Of course, continue to ignore the Debt Collectors.

Which parking company, we can then give you a better idea of the direction in which this might proceed?

    Ah, good old Walton Wilkins!

While more and more parking companies are rushing off to the county court chasing their £100, I don't recall PPL doing that too often.

Perhaps Walt's not that keen on a repeat visit. :)

I suggest you just wait to see what his next move is, if anything at all.
