More Dodgy ISA Ads

I get at least one of these a day on FB and usually just comment to warn of total loss but see they have now turned off commenting :D

I do think something needs to be done about them as they are likely to be embraced by the vulnerable who can least afford to lose their money. I don't think the warnings of 'major' loss are strong / clear enough

I agree. Most of it is shi8 and frequented by unpleasant persons. I only visit as I subscribe to a couple of useful and interesting groups but get bombarded by all sorts of crap.

    R.

I've been blocked on a few of them too. This warning was posted a few days ago

    https://damn-lies-and-statistics.blogspot.com/2019/03/improve-my-isa-review-is-it-genuine-824.html

Maybe we need a warning thread where all these capital loss potential ISAs are listed when they're spotted
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

Nice idea, but how long would it last before MSE deleted the thread?

What is it about scammers and offering 8% (or very close to it)??? It's an instant warning sign!

I only get Hargreaves Lansdown adverts...!

Which is funny because I’m already a customer.

But they know your real details anyway...
Just to name a few: your IP addresses, chat log, websites visited that has the FB "like" buttons, etc.

The third one is needed for them to extract any value from the first two and is of concern even if, like me, you don't use facebook at all. It can be prevented in a number of ways - extensions like uBlock Origin and Privacy Badger, DNS blocking using a hosts file, Pi-Hole etc.
