Returnable Moving Boxes

Hi all - I have had a search through the forum and can't find anything relevant, so I do apologise if this is something that's been asked before.

Last time I moved (6 years ago), I used a company that delivered loads of cardboard boxes of varying sizes for me to use during my move, and then when I'd moved, they came and collected them for me, so I didn't have to find an eco-friendly way of disposing of a massive pile of boxes, or find somewhere to store said boxes.

Foolishly I didn't save their details, and as I am about to move again, I've been googling away trying to find them, to no avail. Does anyone know if such a service still exists? I saw one site called Eco Boxes, but apparently they are not currently taking orders.

Thank you in advance. :o

Ultimately, if you're getting that service, you're also paying for it - it takes time/money for somebody to come to your address, load up a van and take them away ....

Plenty of people will take them off your hands if you've somewhere to put them out for them (so you don't even have to talk to people).... e.g. if you have a porch and can post on Facebook "Boxes, free, in the porch" or "leaning against the wall"

Equivalently search if someone else is doing the same thing, and has 2nd hand boxes on Freecycle / social media / etc.

I gave some of ours away on Freegle when we moved and kept some back which are either flat packed in the garage or loft. Over the past few years I've used the ones I kept for either boxing things up myself (charity shops / car boots etc) or given them to friends who also needed moving boxes but weren't using a full pack service. Don't be too hasty to get rid of them all at once.

That's actually very sensible - I think I'm forgetting that, as I'm moving from a tiny flat to a house with more storage and loft space, I don't actually need to get rid of them all straight away - there was just no space for them when I moved before!

    Thanks very much.
