Sir Greg Knights Bill is now an Act of Parliament, it gained Royal Assent today. Lets hope the new code will sort out these parking pariahs

That is good news, still a long way to go though I suspect before the parking scammers/ex-clampers start behaving with morals and unless they are hit hard in the pocket by Parliament they will carry on regardless.0

At least it got to Royal Assent
It's going to be like 10 green bottles ....... we can pick them off one by one
I suspect there is or has been a scammers meeting already0 -
if they do have a sc@mmers meeting , they could have a straw poll to see who the "ethical" ones are that are sometimes mentioned. that way they would know that all the rest (and there are too many of them to count) will need to start all over and stop their sc@mming ways
I would not be surprised if they fail to identify the one or two "ethical" companies, but at least they would all know that if they look in the mirror, they have bad practices and methods and that getting people on a techicality invoice , storing up millions of them and then taking them to court within 6 years may be a non-starter
thay could start with proper parking management at the point of "sale", instead of greed and avarice for 6 years following any "incident"
must go, just seen some pigs flying past my window , lol0 -
The proof of the pudding will be how well the new Code of Practice will be policed and enforced and whether the DVLA will grow any cojones, to fill the empty pouch they currently wear, to exact any sanctions.
I'm sure the insignificant dross outfits will be expendable, but expect the larger outfits to get no more than the occasional minor wrist slap. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. Is this likely to have any bearing on cases currently being brought?
I appreciate it doesn't change what the law was at the time any alledged contravention may have ocurred (ie any in the last 6 years) however, it may add another tactic in a defence.. 'this industry has been failing consumers so badly that the law has been changed etc'
Yes/No/Maybe?0 -

NO, but if you are dealing with one of the 4 dodgy legals who are probably out of their depth proceed onwards to win0 -

it will make no difference to any parking ticket issued in the last 6 yrs
so basicly the POFa2012 gave the scammers 6 yrs of income
cases will continue , for a long long time
and its not law untill the big man says "yes"0 -

Twirly Whirly currently on BBC Breakfast TV lying through the back teeth!
Just watched this on catchup.
What is the matter with the BBC, don't they know they have just interviewed someone who runs one of the biggest scams going ??
What a load of twaddle from Twirly Whirly ?????
The IPC may well have as members 50% of the parking industry but the majority of them are scammers who rely on the IAS to reject appeals and then it's passed on to the incompetent Gladstones to perform the final scam.
The BBC has not done it's homework, amazed that they now interview scammers ?????0 -
To be fair he is a respected solicitor. The not guilty verdict when he had a few difficulties demonstrates that.0
