Amazon and warranty

In November 2017 we bought our granddaughter from Amazon a HD Fire 7" tablet, for Christmas that year.
In Sept '18 it became faulty, and was replaced that month. Three months later, in November that too developed a fault.
Because they were planning a return to live in the UK, waited till they had returned. In Feb' 19, Amazon were contacted but they said the item was out of warranty they offered a 15%,discount on a new Fire.
When looking at the order for replacement, it said elegible to be replaced up to Sept. 19.but then amazon said this is not the case as the warranty had expired. Clearly they used the get-out of he original purchase.
Is this correct and should we persue.

Its not a 'get out'.
Its how it works. you get a warranty period from date of purchase.0 -
The warranty doesn't reset when you get a replacement, the warranty still ends when the original items warranty runs out.0
-
You should be pursuing this under your statutory rights rather than the warranty.0

How do you go about that then.please.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I had a charging issue with my daughter's Fire for Kids last month and Amazon replaced it FOC even though it was over three years old. I suspect I got result because we have multiple Amazon devices, Prime, music and spend a small fortune with them. Here's my thread from last month:

A Fire HD 7" can be had for under £50; much less when deals are on (like Black Friday). Is it worth the effort?0 -

Actually, if you're a Prime member there's an additional £15 taken off at checkout (I tried it and it works) - so only £34.990
