Basic bank account for household costs

Hi I have read a lot on her about using envelopes to keep track of household costs etc but I have tried it and can never remember to take cash with me when I leave the house etc. I invariably end up using my debit card and then having to rejig the envelopes
We have a santander current account which our salaries go into and all direct debits, standing orders etc come out of every month. What I would like to do is to have a parallel account that we would credit with "spending" money for the month, We don't want to change where salaries etc are paid. We just want a basic spending card. Does such an account exist?

You can do this with any bank's standard current account. You could open a second account with Santander, e.g. their Everyday account.0

Why not open a TSB Classic Plus account (or one each) and earn a little interest on your spending money?0

Thanks for this. I'll try Santander0
