Estate agent wants me to provide my buyer's legal info

Hi all,
I am wary about a request from the estate agent for the property I am seeking to buy.
I am buying a property in England, and selling in Scotland. The sale in Scotland is agreed, and moving ahead with the help of solicitors. I have made an offer for the English property, and it has been accepted.
The estate agent for the property i am buying has asked me to provide contact details of my buyer in Scotland. This seems a bit odd. Why would they need this? I can't get hold of my solicitor, but her assistant thinks this is unnecessary. The estate agent claims they need to know the history of my Scottish property. And not having this information will hold up the purchase. Again, i find this really odd.
Any thoughts / advice would be much appreciated.

Tell them that the buyer has refused consent for their personal information to be passed on.0 -
Get your solicitor to contact the agents and see if they can satisfy them. I expect they are really looking to verify how proceedable you are.0

Refer them to your solicitor, and see if they can provide a convincing case to them for what may be a Data Protection breach...0

As per another poster I suspect this is a clumsy way to find out how proceedable you are.
Have them contact your Scottish solicitor to confirm the sale is underway.0 -
They want to know how much money you're getting from the sale and how near you are to buying another house.
They don't need details regarding your buyer so tell them nicely they can't have them, due to privacy GDPR etc, [I wouldn't tell them to go to your solicitor they may charge you for the e-mail which would basically say in nice language f-off]Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Probably want you to up your offer once they have found out who your buyers are and have potentially contacted them to ask what the agreed price is.0

They are assuming there is no estate agent in Scotland for them to chain-check and obtain progress updates from.
If a solicitor is fulfilling the agent's role, simply provide the solicitor's details and let them get on with it.I am a mortgage broker.
