Puppy from Hungary

So we were advised this person.
Who advised you?0 -
Your money is gone unless you fancy going to court for.
I'm a little confused why you would buy from a guy you haven't met and in Hungary of all places, there's reputable sellers actually in the uk.
Should never buy anything like a pet from a Facebook group.
Apologies OP I'm not a dog owner but who is the FCI ?
Making a mad shot in the dark - this is about money. I think we can all read between the lines and agree that this dog would have been cheaper than a reputable breeder in the UK. It's bad for the op, but my sympathies are limited, and any I do have, are largely for the poor animals breed by unscrupulous breeders0 -

Yes I had considered cost may be a factor but it shouldn't be when a pet is involved, you should actually go and see the breeder and see the litter.0 -
Oh, and buying from Gumtree or Preloved you will get a puppy from a puppy farm which will no doubt die because of the breeding conditions.0

I know that this won't go down too well with the OP but:
IMO, anyone who is willing to buy an animal from an advertiser on sites such as facebook shouldn't be allowed to keep any animals as it clearly shows that they don't have the slightest clue about how to go about ensuring that you get an animal that has been bred by an honest and reputable breeder.
A tiny bit of research beforehand would have explained that no puppy should ever be purchased in this manner and by sending payment to someone who has set up a business such as the one in question, all you are doing is helping to facilitate the puppy farms and the poor treatment of both the puppies and adult dogs used for breeding, which will in all likelihood either be killed or dumped when they are too old to be of any more use.
There is a very good reason why Facebook does not allow its site to be used for the sale of any animals

Posts may not promote the sale of any animals.
and if a breeder is willing to ignore this, why would you consider sending them any money at all?0 -
Hungarian puppy farm (including some not very nice video showing Dachshunds)

From the website of ipata- you've been caught in a classic scam
"Once you've sent payment .. there will be a problem, pet needs a different kind of crate;needs a health inspection;needs insurance;etc.,for an additional fee.If you don't pay right away, they add charges for additional feeding, threaten you with legal charges for animal abandonment etc"
" Tell you to lie to the Western Union agent - saying that you are sending the money to family or for personal reasons, rather than making a purchase"
Etc

I hope you have reported this on the facebook page you found the 'breeder' on.0

Perhaps you could contact your local Hungarian consulate and ask them for advice. They might not be able to help you at all, or they may give advice on how to proceed with the Hungarian legal system.
Have you considered making your story public as a warning for others?0 -
Have you considered making your story public as a warning for others?
The problem is that a story published on the internet is only of any use if someone is looking for particular information and if a person has decided to buy a puppy and doesn't do any research beforehand to find out the do's and don't of it, it's unlikely that they will see the story.0
