paypoint cards

Hello. I pay all my main bills weekly at postoffice with payment cards. I dont like DD.
Currently im with sse company. They told me prices are going up.
So thinking about changing. When i go on money saver quote,
it does not come up with payment card method?
Am i looking at wrong wording?
Love to see a proper list of companies that will do payment cards.

Try another price comparison site like the Citizens Advice Bureau https://energycompare.citizensadvice.org.uk/
It has the option to say that you are on a prepayment meter.
  • Hi. Im on normal meters. I pay money gas and electric up front at paypoint.
They ask for a reading or someone comes round. I then get a invoice showing all my payments and total bill. Normally i overpay a little just in case. If a lot i ask for a cheque back.

Use the easiest one i know. Ukpower.co.uk/Uswitch
is the clearest and easiest one to use IMO and shows all the tariffs. You can select how you pay your bills. select prepayment then all results will be prepay only.
Don t forget to tick the box "show all suppliers " or it misses out many of the cheapest ones.
I dont think all suppliers use payment cards or keys.Ovo and Utilita started off smart prepay years ago and use the Secure Liberty keypad meters..
I `ve just been checking the lowest tariffs on prepayment and in my area Bulb Energy, I supply, and BG are offering prepay rates comparable with the cheapest fixed deals .eg Bulbs electric kwh rate is only 12.4 p, with gas at 3.2 p kwh
  • Thanks i will have a look. . Bulb is good but prepay meter only or DD.

Both..its just that their prepay rates are lower than the others at the moment, at least in my area. They are a variable tariff and they can raise or lower unlike a fixed yearly tariff . If you can switch to credit meters in the long term its cheaper if you get a yearly fixed deal payment by d/d

They're not on a prepay meter though, theviking51 has said it's normal meters and they pay their bill weekly using a payment card. So looking on the price comparison sites the option you need to look for is 'pay when you receive a bill'.

It is cheaper to pay by DD, but it doesn't suit everyone to do that for any number of reasons.
