In my experience, the police usually provide these details if asked. Have you asked the police or if they've already declined, what reason did they give?
What about the photos the witnesses took?
I very much doubt your legal team has any actual legal qualifications or training, from what you've said. Most likely someone earning 20~k a year and following guidance without understanding that seemingly unimportant details can actually make all the difference legally.You keep using that word.
