Utterly confused with meters!

Hello all,

Have moved into a one bed flat that is all electric. Previous tenants were on a SSE prepay Eco 7 meter which I have had changed to an Eco 7 billed meter. Problem is, I wanted to come off Eco 7 as the flat has no storage heater and it seems pointless for me to be on it? Will SSE charge me if I request for the meter to be changed again so soon? I did ask the engineer about putting a non-Eco 7 meter in, but he said that because my one of my two radiators could be used with Eco, that he would put the Eco 7 meter in (not sure what the logic was there).

I'm new to all this and I'm thoroughly confused as to which option is going to save me money. Any help would be much appreciated!

You can ask your supplier to bill you single rate only. They use the total reading, or add the day/night reads then bill you on a single tariff rate for the full 24 hrs.Not all suppliers offer Eco7 total billing.
Before you do that , find out your annual day/night kwh usage then go onto UKpower.co.uk and input these into their Eco 7 suppliers.. Then compare with the best single tariff. There are suppliers out there who can match or beat single rate tariffs even if you do not use night storage heating..Yorkshire Energy usually have a tariff designed for those groups and the day/night rates are very similar
