Is this allowed to be done by solicitors?

I had a pcn for ‘allegedly parking in Crewe. I had a letter from Bank Parking. I ignored it; then a letter from zzps arrived. I ignored this. Then a letter from QDR solicitors warning that if I didn’t pay the £160 then they would recommend to their client that they would take out a ccj. The usual rubbish that is in these type of letters.
To my amazement QDR called my mother-in-law’s house and left a message for me to call them.... My surname is totally different to my in-laws and I have never been registered there. So can anyone tell me....
How the hell did they get my mother-in-law’s number?
Are they allowed to hassle a lonely widowed pensioner who’s first language is not English?
Have they now crossed the line to what ‘good solicitors’ would not or allowed to do what they did?
By doing this have they now made the claim null and void?
Any help would be appreciated on what to do next.

Well QDR is the cheapo version of the disgraced Wright Hassall solicitors and YOU DO NOT OWE £160 it's a QDR SCAM
READ ALL OF THIS ...
WARNING: Are you receiving unsolicited phone calls from a legal chasing unproven debts ?? HARASSMENT PHONE CALLS
Such parking so called debts can only be proven by a judge in County Court
If you are being pestered by a legal write to them requesting they cease and that all communications should be by letter only.
REGARDLESS, BLOCK THE LEGAL ON YOUR PHONE
If the legal ignores you, complain to the SRA (Solicitors Regulation Authority)
https://www.sra.org.uk/consumers/problems.page
ALSO COMPLAIN TO THE ICO
You can report nuisance calls and spam texts to the ICO here
https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/nuisance-calls-and-messages/spam-texts-and-nuisance-calls/

QDR , is part of wright hastle solisitors , a 100 + yr old company that once had scruples , because of the press attention a few yrs ago and the fiasco with POPLa , QDR was created
you can complain where you want , get the solisitors governing authority involved NOTHING , repeat NOTHING will be done
they may be telling porkie pies in an attempt to get your mother to pay up
"that they would take out a ccj."
they seem to have missed out
issuing letter before claim
issuing court papers
fighting this in court
then either running off with there tails between there legs or , if they win , allowing you 28 days to pay up0 -
Complain about this to the SRA.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi
Since my last post, some time ago, things have now moved on. I have received a 2 letters from DCBL debt recovery agents. The first was quite aggressive in its content and contained the Channel 5 logo and the logo for the programme “Can’t pay, we’ll take it away”.
I was at first really worried, but then re-read the content. The content was more or less the same as the other letters I had received from zzzp and QDR. So I emailed channel 5 to see if, 1) DCBL had their permission to use the logo’s..... 2) to see if channel 5 endorse this company.
The company is owned by the the 2 people who appear in the series. But I guess they do not have channel 5 permission. A response to me from channel 5 was that they had passed the letters onto their legal department.
If you receive such a letter as described above then feel free to contact channel 5 on the following email address
viewerenquiries@channel5.com
and attach a photo of the letter.
Let’s stop them from using such tactics to scare people into paying.

Have you made a complaint to the Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) to see what their view is?0 -

… they would recommend to their client that they would take out a ccj.
Are those the actiual words they used or your own? In cases such as this, acuraccy is a sine qua non.
How the hell did they get my mother-in-law’s number?

Nine times out of ten of these tickets are scams so consider complaining to your MP, it can cause the scammer extra work.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

I understand they have already scrapped it following a number of OFCOM rulings re the use of bodycam footage amongst other things. It is only repeats that are now being aired and those have been edited to largely anonymise the debtors featured.0
