buying Cat N car

Hi
Plan to buy a Cat N car from an auction dealer.I have seen the car and happy with its condition and price.

Got 2 keys.
They said no V5 available.
I would need some paint work and a minor dent on bumper which needs sorting out.
My question is:
1.How to get new V5 for the car?
2.At what stage(before taking it out of salvage yard or after getting it repaired) do I need to get road tax done?
3.Is there any thing else i need to do before getting the car on the road?

Also, check how much it will cost to insure, as some insurance companies will charge more for Cat S/N cars, and others won't cover them at all.

I wouldn’t buy both from the same place

You'll presumably need to apply for the V5 which takes 3 weeks (2 for the previous owner to object and 1 to get you a new V5). Who was the previous owner? Can the dealer prove this is above board?

You'll need to get road tax before it goes on the road. If it's being recovered to a garage for work, you won't need tax until it's done though you'll need to declare it as SORN once registering it in your name.

Does it have any identifying marks that can be verified as accurate?
