Banned from Twitter

Hi guys, hope somebody can help.. today I have been banned from Twitter because apparently "my account appears to have exhibited automated behavior that violates the Twitter Rules"...I am totally confused as to what I have done wrong..?
Anyway, my biggest problem at the moment is to have my account un-blocked I have to confirm my telephone number by entering a code they are sending me by sms ... I do not have a mobile phone, so no chances of receiving sms!!! I have written to them, explaining the issue, but they keep on saying they will send the code via sms :mad:

Has anyone else had their twitter account blocked for the same reason? Any idea what I could do , pretty please? I'm completely lost here Thank you guys xx

Pop into a local pound shop, buy a cheap sim card, borrow a mobile from a friend for short while and verify your account

Thanks Tehone, I would if I could, but none of my friends live nearby so cannot borrow their mobile

Could you enlist the help of friend who has a mobile phone? Use their number, they'll get the code, and they can phone or email you with it.

Thanks Blulu, it's all sorted now (well, kind of..). I've set up a new Twitter account, I still had to confirm a code but strange enough this time they gave me the choice to receive it either via sms or voice call on my landline.

I'm still not sure why I had been banned though...I mean, they said I had "exhibited automated behaviour"...I'm sooo confused :huh:

If they don't tell me exactly what I did wrong, how can I avoid doing it again?
I wonder if anyone here on the MSE site knows what they're talking about when they say "automated behaviour"..?

My landline phone receives texts that are read out by an automated voice. My husband sends texts to the home phone rather than my mobile when he's tired!

You are not the only one, I have had mine locked this morning for suspicious behaviour, I have only sent one tweet, (and that was from a gleam widget) in the last two days so no idea what it is all about. I have got it working again now.

This is MSE not twitter, how on earth can anyone answer that. Take it up with twitter
