British Gas new fix to Mar 20

Considering moving to this new fix, currently on British Gas fix to aug 19. Will I have to pay the exit fee if I swap now. Many thanks.

    Some suppliers allow you to swap from one of their tariffs to another without penalty, others don't
    Ask BG and get their response in writing

    Swapped tariffs within BG many times and have never had to pay an exit fee, it's usually only if you are exiting BG.

    I'm a BG customer on a fixed deal until October 19 with free boiler cover etc. I've just started the switching process through Cheap Energy Club and believe that BG don't charge exit fees if you're switching to another tariff with them. However, as far as I'm aware, I won't get an extension to the free boiler cover.
