CryptoCurrency Exchange for UK

Hi,
I'm looking to buy some crypto currencies, maybe EOS and BitCoin. I know it's mostly/purely speculative, hence I'm only allocating a small amount of my money to crypto currency.

Can anyone recommend an Exchange where I can buy Crypto currency? I'm after something that's easy to use, clearly explains it's fees, FCA approved/regulated, registered in the UK and trades in GBP (avoids constant currency conversion costs).

My plan is to buy Crypto currency and just hold on to it for a a few years.

I'll probably end up using eToro, but it's fees look a little steep and the costs aren't the easiest to calculate for a novice.

Thanks

You will not find what you are looking for. Try bitpanda or coinbase for starters. You might want to look at bittrex for the altcoins. Get hold of a hardware wallet to store in. I recommend against purchasing cryptocurrency until you have a hardware wallet.
  • Just make sure you withdraw from exchanges after purchase.

Oh and ignore the crypto haters on here which will probably show up ITT soon enough.

    Crypto hater is here:cool:

Feel free to buy cryptos like gambling, and only put in what you can afford to lose, also remind yourself that it is not an investment, and you will be fine.
  • i'm not a crypto hater ... i'm completely open about hating it :)

if you have some money you can afford to lose, that's great, but why not donate it to your local food bank?

(there is no FCA approved/regulated way to buy cryptos, BTW.)

Coinfloor.co.uk - UK registered, OTC and exchange, only Bitcoin

Bitstocks - UK registered, OTC only, multiple cryptocurrencies (ask them), I've met whole team in person in London, they have their YT channel as well. Trusted, but they are dog lovers (eh, I mean bcash, BSV and Craig Wright lovers), so I don't use them anymore

Localbitcoins - only Bitcoin, Finland registered, P2P exchange only, but big and trusted, used them for last 6 years, never let me down

Check volumes on popular websites to compare them, and see spot prices to check where you will get best deal, all three of them have different fee structure.
Also all three of them will be easy to deal with using GBP national bank transfer. And none of them would have "FCA approval" for crypto trading? I don't think something like that exist yet? Unless I am mistaken, tell me if I am wrong.

I just bought my first bitcoin and went with Coinbase. Very easy to use, you do need to supply I.D when signing up to comply with money laundering laws etc but it seems that is standard for reputable exchanges

They’ve just brought out a Coinbase debit card now for the Uk. Automatically converts your coin to £ you pay through the nose in transaction fees though.

Just don’t buy it with a CC like I did as the bank treated it as a cash withdrawal and stung me with a fee.
