Wing Parking

Hi all,

About 10 days ago I received a windscreen ticket (parking charge notice) from Wing Parking who are working on behalf of Haringey Council. On my estate there was a temporary parking suspension so parking was limited as the council were carrying out works (I'm a resident). However, I parked on a Friday evening after work and recieved the ticket on a Saturday afternoon. The works only took place on weekdays. The council had makeshift signs posted on the walls but it said nothing about recieving any sort of fine. The only thing it said was vehicles may be treated as abandoned and removed.

On the ticket it says they have photos to back up the ticket so I went onto their website to check... There's a photo of my car but the makeshift sign can't be read. Instead they've taken a separate photo of the sign without my car in view. Am I right by saying they need to supply a clear photo of the car and sign in one photo?

Anyway.... I found this forum and I've been searching the newbie section. I just wanted to be clear and that I've understood this correctly... Do I wait until the 25th day then copy and paste the appeal template into their online appeals? Then wait for their reply?

Previously, couple years ago, I recieved a parking charge notice for overstaying my stay in a free parking retail park from Smart. I ignored every letter they sent including the Gladstone letters. After about 6 months of threats, they gave up.

So I was wondering if I should appeal this ticket from Wing Parking with your template or ignore ignore ignore and wait for it to go away?

Any help on this will be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Technically yes, and the signs would need to state the contract re parking charges, not just 'no parking' and threats to remove.

Anyway, with WING there is a 3 part appeal.

Do what the NEWBIES thread says (on day 26, not saying who was driving) then it gets rejected and goes to the Council/Housing Association, repeat the first appeal! No saying who was driving, not even if they ask. Ignore that.

Then they will reject a second time and give you a POPLA code and you win, because the land Wing operate on is Council land and a registered keeper can't be held liable.

You'd need to spell that out but copy any Wing POPLA thread. Search the forum!

Which Council or Housing Association (HA)?

Yes we know, but that's not a good idea as a parking firm has 6 YEARS to take you to court, and some firms are currently suing over 2014 PCNs right now (not Smart, or Wing, but you never know, and six YEARS is a long time). Smart could have been beaten really easily at POPLA, 100% win would have been certain against them if you'd played it as per the NEWBIES thread at the time.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Is the template ready to send, just copy and paste? Or would I have to change anything?

    It's Haringey Council

That's annoying. Oh well, fingers crossed.

I'm a lady, but don't mind being called 'mate' on here! :)

You know the template is ready to send, it says so in the NEWBIES thread!
Would I have to do anything after the second rejection?
Well yes, as I said, POPLA stage (again covered fully, in the sticky thread). You can copy ANY other WING POPLA thread.

  • Hi there,

Just wanted to say I recieved a response from Wing Parking. They've accepted the appeal and cancelled the fake PCN.

Thanks again for all your help

Well done you, a monkey off your back, problem solved! :T

Excellent news, and thank you very much for the feedback.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
