  • Good morning and happy hump day,

As predicted, I stayed late last night and caught up on some work but no where near it all. I might stay late tonight again but we'll see how i feel. I decided against the gym this morning as I have football training tonight and yoga at lunch.

Not too much else to report for today.

    NSD # 8 today.

TA - Glad you and DD had a well deserved lovely day :)

    Morning all
It's very windy but the sun is trying to peek out from the clouds.
I thought I had TMJD last night as my face on the left side was aching, but I have woken this morning with a sore black eye. I don't know what's started that, probably stressing about today.
This morning we are taking Dad to the hospital for an appointment with the chest specialist. TBH I am not looking forward to it as he was a bit argumentative on the phone last night, about going somewhere for lunch after his appointment. Oh well c'est la vie :(.

DGS has asked us to go to see his class assembly tomorrow. They have been researching the 60's and he's going to be dancing the Twist to The Contours " Do you love me ". He didn't believe us when we said we remember it first hand :rotfl:. ( and it doesn't feel that long ago  )
Oh well I suppose I should get dressed and face the day. Please, please don't make me go :rotfl:

Take care today especially if you have to travel. Hugs to all.
    nan xx

  • Nanny, good luck with your Dad's hospital appointment.

My dad was very deaf and spoke loudly, though he had a hearing aid. Sometimes in hospital waiting rooms, he would make remarks about other people who were in the waiting room, often uncomplimentary remarks.

It was so embarrassing!! Sometimes I would look into the middle distance and not catch anyone's eye, and try and shush him, sometimes if I knew the person had heard I would say "sorry" and shush him. It was excruciating. I used to sometimes wish that someone else could go with him, but there wasn't anyone else,

Don't know if your Dad does this sort of thing, but good luck anyway!!

Morning all! Back to sleeping the sleep of the dead with added fogginess...Sewing tonight, best get my homeowrk done...Cat has decamped to his owners I think, don't blame him, who'd want to go out in this weather is they didn't have to? OH has also gone out to play with his friends, so I am solo in the house...Breakfast first then, and then shower, and then up and at them...
Good luck anyone travelling around in this!

    Windy Wednesday!

    Morning all,
Another day of staying in (apart from dog walk & picking DGS up later) I cant be bothered going to town or anywhere whilst it's so windy and cold. The trouble is I'm on the internet browsing more ,then money gets spent. Yesterday it was aromatherapy oils as DS asked me to make some potion up for his skin.I've chucked some out as they were from when I did my course a good few years ago!

Holly, the recipe was very nice and there is a bit left for my lunch.I used 2 tins of the flageolet beans, probably 1 1/2 would have been enough as the men were full- though it didnt stop DH eating a Chorley cake after ;) He's asked for mince and chips tonight - is he trying to tell me something :rotfl:
Nanny hope your Dads appt goes well. I love the DGC assemblies.
Nelski- hope the trip is ok.
Stay safe and warm everyone,Lylahound wants her lunch so I'd better go- can't resist those big brown eyes :) x

Afternoon all DH wanted soup for lunch so I reviewed the contents of the fridge and cupboard and we made Tuscan bean soup. I served it wirh crusty br. It was very acceptable and there is some left for tomorrow.

Taf I have been reading about your seed planting and feel quite inspired. Is your greenhouse heated? DH has just planted some cut and come again lettuce seeds and they are on the kitchen window sill. Fingers crossed.

It hasn't been as windy here as the forecast suggested thank goodness but I am still not keen to go out. Roll on some warmer weather.

Well hugs to all and thinking of poorlies and worrieds. Have a good afternoon folks.

No, the greenhouse isn't heated. Nothing will go out there until it's ready, so probably not until the beginning of April. I cleared a table in the lean to which although almost as cold as outside, is still warmer thanks to being part of the house, so everything will be in there for now..
Yes, it will be pleasant to eat some home grown instead of buying for a change, fingers crossed for your lettuce :)

Just back from visiting, gosh, it's blowy outside!

DM not too good today, she's very tired but can't get to sleep much and the food is just terrible. I went down to the Marks food hall for a salmon pasta salad for her.

Nan- hope the appointment went well.

I'm now going to lie down.

I spent most of today volunteering at the library and treated myself to fish and chips as I did not get home till half past six and was really hungry. Dishwasher has been on and I have some parcels to unpack as I found some good deals at poundworld on toothpaste , cleaning wipes, batteries, soap, bin bags, foil, laundry liquid etc. If I can find a handyman to assemble a set of shelves I can get everything put away tidily - eventually.

I keep meaning to stop spending but when I see a good deal on essentials I can't resist and with four DDs stuff will get used Let's face it things will not suddenly get cheaper!

Good luck with your Dad and the appointment and I hope he is a bit less abrupt. I had to smile about demonstrating the twist and I remember my DDs being gobsmacked when I knew the words to "Oh Mickey You're so fine" and explaining it had been a hit in the eighties.
